The paper reviews the existing literature on the topic and identifies the most relevant personality dimensions that impact life gratification among students. The study also provides a structured approach to identify, select, evaluate and synthesize existing literature on a specific topic to achieve the outcome. This literature review study is practically useful for academicians and all working in this direction and it draws research gaps and provides future research directions.
The success of any firm can be measured by its profitability condition, which results from the effectiveness of its employee's performance. Therefore, selecting the best suitable candidate with skills/traits essential for successful Job Performance is primitive, as the efficient working of a firm is a direct function of the performance of its employees. Recent research underscores the importance of the Big Five personality traits in predicting job performance, yet there is limited study on their impact and gender moderation within the Indian IT sector. This study addresses this gap by analyzing how these traits affect job performance and the role of gender in this relationship. Data from 508 employees across the top 10 IT companies (based on revenue and market capitalization) were examined. Results indicate a significant effect of the Big Five personality traits on Job Performance among executives in IT companies. Among these traits, conscientiousness was found to be a more influencing trait, with high levels of conscientiousness strongly correlating with better job performance. The study validates previous findings and highlights these traits theoretical and practical implications for improving employee performance and selection processes in the IT sector.
Despite significant global efforts to address gender inequalities, discrimination against women persists across countries, religions, ethnicities and regions. Women’s participation in economic activities has dual benefits: it enhances women’s empowerment and contributes to their country’s economic development. The present paper attempts to test the impact of economic, household and household educational backgrounds on female decision-making for labour force participation (LFP) in Afghanistan. The researchers collected 414 responses from women aged 15 to 65 years old living in Afghanistan. Females engaging in any activity that generates money or actively seeking paid jobs were considered to be in the labour force. The results show that economic and household factors have a negative association with female decision-making for labour force participation in Afghanistan. Females from poorer families and with unemployed parents and husbands are less likely to enter the labour market than females from wealthier families and with employed parents and husbands. Moreover, females from larger household sizes and living in joint families are less likely to participate in the labour force compared to females living in nuclear family types and smaller household sizes. However, the relationship between household educational background (education qualifications of parents and husbands) and female decision-making for labour force participation in Afghanistan was not significant.
After the burst of the housing bubble in 2008, the number of changes can be seen in the saving patterns of people. Many behavioural and psychological factors have been considered for understanding this saving pattern or behaviour. By employing the theory of planned behaviour, this paper aims to provide a theoretical framework for examining the impact of the present hedonistic time perspective on the saving intention of the people. To this point, the authors have tried to identify the research to time perspective and saving behaviour. After examining the literature, various conceptual and research issues have been discussed which led to the development of this framework. This model will also be conceptualized and analyzed using the structural equation modeling and considered for future research by the authors.
Organizational Culture provides an important framework that influence decision-making in a firm resulting in positive or negative effects on the firm's performance. It is an unwritten and informal standard of behaviour that assist employees understanding how to act in a given situation to ensure effectiveness in their roles. These informal norms are provided by managerial ethos, especially, at the higher levels, and are a shared collection of beliefs and traditions that drives organizational behaviour. Of the various types of cultures, this paper examines the influence of role culture and achievement culture on the performance of selected universities in north India. Data has been collected from the senior academic and administrative functionaries involved in decision-making in the universities directly or indirectly.
Employee engagement is a significant element in achieving organizational objectives. Numerous studies have demonstrated the positive effects of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on an organization's performance; however, few have investigated the attitudes and perceptions of faculties in higher education institutions, especially business schools. The main objective of this study is to examine the mediation of organizational trust on the relationship between CSR perceptions among faculty members and their engagement in the Nepali business school. These hypotheses were investigated by analyzing 239 survey responses from faculty members through a self-administered questionnaire through purposeful sampling. Our structural equation modeling results using AMOS version 24 revealed that perceptions regarding CSR positively affected both faculties' engagement and organizational trust. The results indicate that organizational trust partially mediates the link between perceived CSR and faculty engagement. The study emphasizes the importanceof business schools viewing CSR initiatives as a strategic tool to foster the engagement of faculties. This research contributes to the existing literature on business ethics, business philosophy and human resource management from the perspective of social exchange and social identity.
Digital twins have emerged as a transformative technology in logistics management, offering unprecedented capabilities for real-time monitoring, predictive analysis, and operational optimization. Organizations can simulate, predict, and enhance complex supply chain processes with remarkable precision and efficiency.
